Below I’ve compiled a small list of my favourite Ford vehicles, check them out;

Ford Fiesta-
This beauty performs well and yet it remains a suitable family car! As well as it’s performance rating - the newest Fiesta comes in a flashy body shape and all the colours available are pearlescent!

Ford KA-
Although not an amazing car in itself, the KA (new ones not so much) are compact cars and great for learner drivers.

Ford Kuga-
You do not want to get run over by one of these. Available from 18,995 - I simply cannot express my love for this vehicle enough… Every time I work on one I just think, ‘I want this, I shall steal this, wait that’s illegal.’ - maybe it would be worth it! A big feature of the new Kuga is it’s all wheel drive, useful in too many ways to list.

Ford Mondeo-
Since I was young, my step-dad has always had Mondeos, and so I grew up inspired by them, and they are astonishing. Beautiful to drive. The new Zetec model was slightly disappointing but do not be put off, the less recent mondeos are still very popular vehicles!

Sierra-
If you can get your hands on one, great, if not, join the club!
This dolly was the answer to all the questions raised over the Cortina, did it succeed? ‘Course it bloody did. It must’ve been, it was in production for nine years.

Second Hand Motorcycles: What to Watch For

By. Jay Gaulard

While purchasing a used motorcycle, you shouldn't just buy the first one that you like. Unfortunately, previously used bikes can have quite a few issues and even if you don't mind a fixer upper, you're going to want to know just what is wrong so you are paying the appropriate price. Obviously, if a bike needs a lot of work, it should cost less.

There are some areas of motorcycles that are more likely to give problems than others and you'll want to be aware of these. Let's take a look at what you should be watching for in a used motorcycle. These are all things that a beginning rider might miss in the excitement of getting a bike.

General Condition

Before inspecting specific parts of a used motorcycle, you'll want to take a look at what the bike looks like overall. You can't expect it to be in pristine shape, of course, since it has been used and this type of transportation is more likely to get banged up in everyday use than a car or truck.

Things to keep an eye out for include scratches and dents. These may not affect performance, but they could indicate that the bike has been in an accident that may have caused deeper damage. Also, in some cases, these damages could represent something that you will need to replace. For example, missing handlebar grips or badly damaged panels.

Rust can also be a problem, since it only tends to get worse. If there is moderate rust, keep in mind that these are parts you will likely have to replace in the near future. Rust can be very corrosive and its presence is something that will definitely lower the price of a used vehicle of any kind.

Gauges

These often break on older bikes and should be checked for accuracy. Usually the only way to really check is to take the bike for a test drive. While the gas gauge may not be absolutely vital, it does make life a lot easier, as opposed to looking into the dark tank and trying to figure out how much gas is left.

Other gauges, such as the speedometer are more important, but also tend to stop working in time, so make sure that you check this.

Brakes

As a safety feature, brakes are indispensible, but they are also one of the first things to wear out on a used bike. Check to see how well the brake pads grip and if they are worn down much. Uneven thickness of the brake pads means they are probably poorly adjusted and you will need to make sure that this is checked before you really ride the bike. Chances are the back brake system will be more worn unless they have recently been replaced.

Chain and Gears

Inspect the chain and all visible gears for signs of wear when checking out a bike. The chain should be able to be moved about an inch up and down in the center. Incorrect tension could mean there is extra wear and tear on the bike. The same goes for lubrication . . . if the chain is not properly lubricated, the engine will have been working harder and may be closer to needing to be replaced.

You'll also want to make sure that all gears and sprockets are intact, not missing teeth or damaged in any way.

Test Drive

Taking the bike for a test ride will let you know pretty quickly if this is a good investment or not. There are a few things to note at this point.

How does the bike feel? Check that it is a good height for you, that you don't have to balance on one foot to hold it up and that the handlebars are a comfortable distance for you.

Does it start right up? A bike that is hard to start won't get any easier, so this is definitely something to look for. Many bikes have their little quirks, so ask the seller if there is a trick to it. For kick-starters, it shouldn't require huge amounts of force to start the bike.

Does it keep running steadily? If you have to keep revving the engine to keep the motorcycle going, that is a sign that you should look elsewhere.

Is the battery good? Start and turn off the bike several times. If it stutters and is difficult to start, the battery could be faulty and need to be replaced. Depending on the brand of bike, this could get rather expensive.

Do all the lights work? This is pretty quick and easy to check, just flick each light on and off, check the brake lights and turn signals to be sure they work. A weak headlight could indicate a bad battery or connection.

Are there any worrisome noises or vibrations? If you are accustomed to how a motorcycle should feel and sound, this is an indication that something is not right with the bike. Make sure you try several speeds to get a good feel for the bike.

Do the gears shift smoothly? The last thing you want is a bike that jerks you around every time you have to shift gears, so check this out, going through each gear to test it. Do this while on a fairly straight, smooth stretch of road so you won't be distracted by other things.

All this might seem like a lot to be looking for, but keep in mind that this is an important purchase. The money you invest in a used motorcycle is not the last money you'll be putting into it, so you will want to make sure you know what you are getting into. If you aren't confident about your abilities to check the bike over, just go ahead and make sure that you bring along someone with mechanical expertise. There's nothing wrong with making sure the bike you get is worth the money you pay for it.

Fast Cars Like Audi A6 Rocks

By. Jessica Whittaker

Fast cars like Audi A6 last for ever. The new Audi A6 (previously the C6) was unveiled in the year 2005. At that time fast cars like the Audi A6 was a big carhit all over the world. The new Audi A6 was premeditated by Walter de'Silva, the new form is visually a development of the C5, but is longer by 492 cm. It includes the new Audi brand single-frame grille, and has more refined equipment. Its design has been censured, as the grill is approximately closely the same as the Rover 75 V8's, which was released a year before.

Most prominent is the MMI (Multi Media Interface) which is an arrangement calculating in-car entertainment, satellite routing, and climate management, automobile settings like suspension arrangement and optional electronic accessories using a central display interface. This has the benefit of diminishing the amount of buttons usually found on a control panel by substituting them with controls which manage many devices using the incorporated screen.

The engine of the Audi A6 sports a fresh FSI direct injection technology was commenced for the first time outside the race track. Although the line of engines symbolizes the same succession as the previous model, all engines were original.

The Multitronic mechanical transmission persists as a substitute with a new 6-speed Tiptronic gearbox obtainable in the high end models. Quattro stable four wheel drive is existing in most of the array, and typical in the most powerful models. The quattro is not offered on the multitronic alternative of the Audi A6 but can be bought on the physical and Tiptronic gear arrangements.

On the contrary, the Tiptronic scheme is only accessible on the quattro variations of the sedan. The 6-speed manual gearbox is offered with the 3.2L engine but not for the North American market as sales of C5 manuals were sluggish. The Audi A6 comes with other choices of body too. The Avant turned up during the course of the year 2005.

In China, a longer car was brought out in the same year and named the A6 L. The all road (now called A6 all road quattro) model made its first appearance in 2006 and as before is an off-road prepared model of the Avant which is available with either a 2.7 or 3.0 diesel or 3.2 or 4.2 petrol.

The sport model S6 was introduced in the Frankfurt Motor Show, with sales commencing from early 2006. It is power-driven by a Lamborghini-derived 5.2 L V10 FSI delivering 435 PS (320 kW). The S6 attains 60 mph from stationary in 5.1 seconds and the quarter mile is covered in 13.5 seconds.

A powerful RS6 will go on sale early in the year 2008. This will be motorized by a Lamborghini-derived 5.2 LV10 TFSI giving 580 PS (426 kW). The car is well-built and its materials are of high quality. The dashboard is covered with a material which is soft and pliable. Seats are upholstered with leather and the wooden inserts look very elegant and attractive.

Audi A6 sports a comfortable feel and its Bluetooth hands-free cell phone system is excellent. Its backup camera and iPod integration work very well.

Five Ways to Keep Tires Out of Landfills

By. John Curry

Copyright (c) 2009 John Curry

According to the Environmental Protection Agency, more than 290 million scrap tires are generated in the United States every year. While recycling tires has increased dramatically in recent years, the fact remains that there are too many used tires clogging our landfills. On the surface, this may not seem like a huge problem, but tire piles are more than just a nuisance - they are a health hazard. They attract pests like rodents who nest in them and mosquitoes that live in the stagnant rain water collected in the tires. In addition, if the tires catch fire, they produce black smoke and air pollutants, posing significant risks to humans, animals and the environment.

Fortunately, we can help to solve the problem by finding creative ways to recycle and reuse tire rubber. Here are five ways to keep tires out of landfills:

1. Curb ramps - Made from crumb rubber, auto curb ramps are used to bridge the gap from street to driveway in neighborhoods where rollover curbs make the transition difficult. In a three-piece curb bridge set, 12 tires are recycled.

2. Highway resurfacing - In several states crumb rubber is being mixed with recycled and virgin asphalt materials attaining a high reduction of internal vehicle noise as well as a reduction of highway noise in highly populated areas. This reduces the amount of limited resource virgin asphalt being used.

3. Highway sound barriers - Many states are now using sound barriers to protect neighborhoods from the loud noises produced by nearby highways. In northern Virginia, a sound barrier was developed using a mixture of concrete aggregate, cement, water and small pieces of shredded tires. Sounds are absorbed by this "Whisper Wall."

4. Rubber surfacing - Rubber tires are being used as playground and running track surfacing. The resulting material is durable as well as soft, lessening the impact of a fall and reduces injury to runners. This same material is also being used as mulch in road medians or landscaping areas.

5. Tires as fuel - Scrap tires can be used as fuel in shredded form or whole to make tire-derived fuel (TDF). TDF produces the same amount of energy as oil and 25% more energy than coal, and is used as a supplemental fuel source to wood and coal. In 2003, 130 million scrap tires were used for fuel.

These solutions are typically utilized by manufacturers, construction companies and government entities in their zeal to cut costs and be environmentally-friendly. Consumers can help too by using and properly maintaining durable tires, purchasing used tires and retreads, and buying products made from recycled tires like tire swings, floor mats and curb ramps.

Are Electric Cars Still the Wave of the Future?

BY.Gregg- Camp

With all the hype and then subsequent let down of the electric car movement many people are beginning to wonder if these cars will ever become mainstream or if they will remain the occasional oddity on the road. Many gas-electric hybrids by companies like Toyota, Ford, Lexus and Mercury are already enjoying some success, but true electric cars are still not capable of attaining the speed or traveling distance required to make them a viable alternative to the gas guzzling vehicles that many Americans are still driving. And the cost is still prohibitive for the average person as well. Saving money on fuel expenses isn't likely to help the average household afford a vehicle in the $80,000 to $500,000 price range any time soon.

Keeping Kurrent in the Neighborhood

Still, electric vehicles are getting better and there are some inexpensive models on the road from independent companies like American Electric with their Kurrent selling for around $10,000. However, this is not a family vehicle as it only seats two people. It isn't meant for cruising down the highway either, the manufacturers suggest that people need to "slow down" a bit anyway and tout this vehicle as a "neighborhood vehicle". This would be perfect for college students or people who live a short distance from work, but it won't replace your regular vehicle just yet. Meanwhile, countries like Norway have been driving electric cars like the Think which can go 112 miles on a charge at top speeds of 62 mph for years now and these vehicles are expected to hit US markets within the next couple of years for less than $20,000.

Innovations on the Rise

Most Americans aren't ready to settle for driving 30-100 miles on a charge and then waiting many hours to get back on the go and so the car manufacturers are still working hard to overcome the obstacles and build better batteries and vehicle designs that will extend the driving distance and increase speed. Ideas being developed include hydrogen fuel cells and plug-in hybrid. Either manufacturers are going to have to find a way to create electric vehicles that are comparable in performance and price to conventional vehicles or Americans are going to have to alter their lifestyles by limiting the number of hours driven per day and their driving speed. Since the latter is unlikely in the near future, automakers will have to keep working on new designs.

Weighing the Options

There are several good, inexpensive electric vehicles on the market right now for people who travel short distances to work or to the grocery store like the Kurrent, the Fly bo (made in China), and the GEM. There are also more expensive electric cars like the Venturi Fetish that top out at speeds of 100mph and have an equally impressive price tag at over $400,000 in the US. Meanwhile, it will likely still be few years into the future before the electric car becomes a viable option for the majority of people in the United States.

The American Electric Car

GM is not the first and certainly will not be the last American auto manufacturers to create a mass marketed electric car. GM did it in the 90's with the "EV" which was a success to the consumers, but not for GM as it was more of a test car. They are working on a car, the "Volt" which will be designed to travel 40 miles solely on battery power. Something like 75% of Americans travel less than 40 miles in their commute to work. So it can provide a clean means to travel and will have a small engine for those with greater distances. The Volt is highly anticipated to charge into American's lives.

Audi R8

By. Jessica Whittaker

Audi R8 - one of the fastest cars. The German automaker, Audi, in 2007 introduced a sports car with mid-engine design for a whopping US$113,150. It started hitting the ramp at the auto shows and other events in 2006 for the first time. The design is based on the Lamborghini Gallardo. It should be noted that Audi owns the Lamborghini Spa completely. The car was originally a racecar. Audi had decided as early as 2005 to use the racecar as a base for a new road car, which was the Audi R8. It also borrows heavily from Audi Le Mans quattro concept car. The Audi R8 was officially launched on the 30th of September 2006 at the Paris Motor Show.

The Audi R8 is fitted with an engine at "mid-ships". This basically means that the engine is housed between the front and rear axles. The engine has a 4.2 liter capacity, with its DOHC FSI technology producing 420 hp. This dream of a car has an acceleration of 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds. It is the same engine as the one used in Audi RS4.

The car has amazing thrust with the torque going as high as 317 lb-ft. This car achieves a top speed of 187 mph. The Audi R8 also comes equipped with disc brakes, dry-sump lubrication and four-link suspension, Quattro all wheel drive and Servotronic steering. There is also an option between manual six-speed transmission and the "R tronic" (single clutch semi-automatic) transmission. Originally there used to be an additional option of a double clutch gearbox but that option is no longer available.

It weighs approximately 1560 kg. The Audi R8 goes high tech in its suspension capabilities with magneto rheological dampers. These are controlled using a magnetic fluid and which is in turn controlled using an electromagnet. This is used to sense the change in the road conditions and protect the passengers from it, providing the ultimate driving experience.

The R8 closely resembles the Lamborghini Gallordo and deviates from it dramatically only when it comes to styling, design, engine and pricing. The Audi assures its drivers of a totally secure experience ensuring that the Audi R8 is equipped with side impact protection, crash sensors, ESP and an extremely rigid bodyshell in addition to the standard features of airbags, central locking system and the rest.

The Audi R8 also boasts of a Bang & Olufsen stereo system and Carbon Ceramic composite breaks. Add to this the BI-XENON headlights, which uses electronically controlled gas discharge lamps, an Oxygen Silver or Carbon sideblade, a retractable rear spoiler, reinforced bumpers, twin tailpipes and a single frame grille in high gloss black and you have one sweet ride.

The Audi R8 is definitely easy on the eye and one of the sweetest rides present in the market. The inside of the car is just as mouth watering as the outside, with sports seats, a multi-function three-spoke steering wheel, and auto-dimming interior mirrors. But what takes the interior to a whole new level is the Alacantra, a suede-like fabric, which is used for the upholstering. This car is widely touted as the only car that can actually better the Porsche 911 experience, which is considered to be the ultimate in sports cars.

Texas Defensive Driving Boom

BY. Joshua Nestor

Many American states primarily amongst them, Texas and Florida, have pushed the cultivation of defensive driving courses. Those states have put forward incentives for businesses to build these fee based education facilities by offering what amounts to ticket credits. In many areas, this means you can have that ticket wiped out in exchange for completing traffic school. Some of these organizations offer to let you learn on line instead of spending your precious hours sitting in a classroom.

Ticket proceeds are a chief moneymaker for many states. To give a portion of this up in return for education indicates the schools truly work well. There has been mounting pressure for more and better driver education for two major reasons. The mortality rate from automobile accidents has gotten out of hand particularly with drivers under 25. Such accidents as well as the accompanying collision costs, are putting a big dent in insurance companies profitability affecting their ability to offer affordable coverage.

Even if you have only had your driver's license for a month, you already know what kind of foolishness often heeds warnings on the streets.

Lots of life's blunders can be easily achieved when we learn to adopt a little healthy pride in ourselves with the objective at hand. You will undoubtedly notice that you drive safer and smoother if you are proud of your driving.

Driving a car is one of life's less confined freedoms. You can drive almost anywhere. Freedom on the streets is exhilarating even when minding the speed limits. The rush of freedom's emotion can inadvertently cause some people, more notably in less oriented drivers, to become disoriented in their environment. You should never neglect that there are so many other vehicles on the road with your own one.

Do you worry about staying unhurt and out of a wheelchair or living for that matter? Then recognize that a large portion of the drivers whom you share the roads with is ignorant. This awareness is the criteria for good defensive drivers.

For you to graduate from novice to elite easily and quickly, you simply need to appreciate that bad drivers, possibly including yourself, compounds a real risk to your body and mind. Not to be too dramatic; the representations are a fact and very much include the line between life and death.

Even in the best of worlds, hazards are a part of daily life. Whatever you want to call it - defensive driving, responsible driving, or safe driving - don't wait for an Act of Congress. Make it a No. 1 priority. Make a decision to get serious about defensive driving today. Your life depends on it.

If you understand the concept, then you are well on your way to being a good driver. Watch everything and everyone around you, from the moment you turn the key to when you stop at the end of the road. Safe drivers achieve longer lives and spend less on auto insurance; two admirable goals to achieve wouldn't you agree?

Intensive or Automatic Driving Lessons - What's Right for You?

By. Gordon Parkes

People learn in many different ways and the type of driving lessons that are right for you will depend on your individual skills and traits.

Some will benefit most from a short and intensive driving course, while others can find this form of learning overwhelming. Also, there are people who may want to take automatic driving lessons - although others may find it restrictive if they are unable to drive in a car with manual transmission.

Intensive and residential driving courses involve spending many hours each day driving over a short period of between 3 and 8 days. Your driving test will be scheduled to take place at the end of the course.

While these types of courses have a good success rate, there is no guarantee you will pass at the end of it. Also, while they are cost effective in the long run, the initial outlay is high compared with conventional driving lessons.

If you need to learn to drive particularly quickly, then you can benefit by taking part in a residential course. However, it is a big commitment. In fact, you will probably have to take some time off work or college to complete an intensive driving course.

These rigorous courses are available in both automatic and manual cars, depending on the driving school you choose.

There are many reasons why you may want to take automatic driving lessons, including:

- Driving an automatic is easier, as you don't need to work the clutch.

- Some disabilities can make operating the gearstick difficult.

- Learning at an automatic driving school can improve your confidence, especially if you are a younger learner.

While learning in an automatic can be easier, there are advantages to taking lessons in a manual vehicle.

The costs are generally lower, as automatics have higher fuel costs. It can also be slightly more difficult to find a driving school that offers automatic lessons. Although there are many such schools across the country, manual driving schools are still much more common.

As manuals are more popular, you may not be able to practise driving with friends and family between lessons. You should aim to get as much experience on the road as possible before your driving test, so learning in an automatic can be a disadvantage.

Finally, if you pass your test in an automatic, you will not be allowed to drive manual cars. By taking your test in a manual, you will be entitled to drive either type of transmission.

Whether prefer an intensive driving course or more spread out lessons, and whether you suit manual or automatic driving lessons depends on how you absorb information. Before beginning driving lessons, you should discuss the type that would help you the most with your instructor.

Florida Truck Driving Deemed Deadliest Job in State

By. Peter Kent

Recently, a Florida Trend news article reported that although the unemployment rate dropped from 2006 to 2007, there were the same number of on-the-job fatalities as the previous year. Additionally, according to the article, truck drivers, who earn a mean wage of $29,266 are reportedly working in the most deadly job in the state of Florida.

The "transportation incidents killed 136 Florida workers in 2007," however, this number is likely much higher considering those who were also killed and involved in a truck accident.

It is common for truck accidents to be among the most fatal auto accidents that can occur, especially among highways and biways. Although the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) recorded approximately 2,234 deaths among those in the transportation industry throughout the country in 2007, but the actual number of individuals that were likely impacted by the truck accidents is likely much more.

For example, following a fatal truck accident there is often the notion of the ripple effect that can occur among truck accident victims meaning that not only can a victim be scarred by the injuries that ensued as a result of an accident, but their lives can continue to be negatively impacted as well.

It is common for a truck accident victim to be plagued by a number of adverse truck accident side effects including injury, job loss/loss of income, debt/bankruptcy and lack of funds to pay for medical expenses. Safety First: Tips For Junk Yards

By. A.Nutt

Junk yards can be dangerous places to be. There are all manner of sharp, twisted things, metal, glass and precariously balanced items. That`s why it`s a good idea to take precautions when entering a junk yard and make sure that you are safe. Here are a few things to keep in mind when heading into a dangerous section.

Safety Gear

You don`t need to suit up for biohazards in a junk yard, but some basic safety gear will help protect you against potential accidents and injuries.

Steel-toed boots are a very important part of your safety gear. The thick soles will protect you from punctures in case you step on something long and pointy, such as a nail or screw and the steel toes offer protection against heavy objects falling on the feet, as well as stubbing them on things. The soles of these work boots are also protection against electrical hazards, should you step on a live wire by accident.

If there is activity, such as welding and moving of parts going on, then head gear in the form of a hard hat and safety goggles are also recommended and may even be required to enter the junk yard. Protective UV eyewear is required if you will be welding or watching someone else welding.

For handling of anything in the junk yard, it`s important to wear heavy work gloves that will protect the hands and prevent possible punctures or cuts. Even when you think lifting an object is safe, there could be glass or shards of metal below it.

Keeping Safe

How you act and what you do in the junk yard will also have a bearing on how safe you are. Apart from wearing protective gear, there are a few things you can do to prevent injury. It`s a good idea to read any signs or safety information provided before you enter the yard. These will be fairly prominent and will warn you of any particular dangers such as electrical hazards, moving equipment or other potential issues.

Taking care where you walk is definitely a good idea. Junk yards have pre-cleared paths that should be safe to walk on, but if you start wandering off between piles of junk, you could step on something or injure yourself.

Be aware of any work being done. If there are cars or other objects being moved around and heavy machinery working, you could be in danger if you get too close. Knowing where the work is going on will help you avoid potential problems. Remember that someone inside a machine might not see you walking below them.

In general, it`s a bad idea to simply wander around a junk yard. Find out first where the items you are looking for are and then go directly there. If the property is fairly large, you may need directions to reach a specific spot. Ask an employee for directions or to guide you to the area you need to reach.

Make sure that any tools you are using are in good repair. It can be quite hazardous to work with broken or dull tools which could slip and injure you, so take only well cared for items. Also, be sure that you know how to work with any electrical tools, such as cutters.

Junk yards can be fascinating places to visit and may be just the spot to find a part you`ve been looking for, but the truth is that they can also be very dangerous. As long as you take precautions and wear protective gear, you should be just fine.

12 Steps To Maximize Your Next Tune Up

By. Emily Leach

The phrase 'tune up' is actually a bit vague for many people who own vehicles. Some say that a tune up consists of changing your oil, air filter, spark plugs and may also include belt inspection. Others say that you should even change your transmission fluid... so who is right?

Here is a comprehensive list of steps you should consider doing every 30,000 to 40,000 miles (review your owner's manual for manufacturers recommendation) to keep your engine running smooth and to minimize the chances for engine problems.

Step One - Replace the fuel filter. The fuel filter is one of those basic engine components that may only cost $10 or $20, but can protect your engine from thousands of dollars in damage if you change it regularly. Carburetors and fuel injection systems can be clogged up by the tiniest of particles, so a properly functioning fuel filter is very important. Don't skip this step, no one wants their car to die in an intersection ... and isn't that always where it happens?

Step Two - Change the spark plugs (unless they're pulse plugs, in which case you have 10,000 - 20,000 more miles to go). This is one part many people skimp on because they only look at price and do not factor in the importance of this component. I recommend the pulse plug by Enerpulse because of it helps to burn fuel more completely, making the combustion process more efficient. This leads to an increase in gas mileage (some times as much as 4 mpg) and increased power at acceleration. Also examine the spark plug wires and replace as needed. A new set of high-quality wires is worth the cost. They may be permanently attached to the distributor cap, so it will have to be changed as well.

Step Three - Replace the distributor cap and rotor if your car has them (some newer models with distributorless ignition do not). Cold morning starts can really wear on your ignition system, this step will help keep your engine starting smooth.

Step Four - (For cars older than 1978) Change the points and condenser for cars that do not have an electronic ignition. You'll actually want your points changed, or at least adjusted, every six months or so (if they're changed, check the ignition timing as well).

Step Five - (Also applies to cars older than 1980) Check the ignition timing, each car has a recommended timing and as the car ages, it will get out of kilter. Having it checked and adjusted will also help alleviate those embarrassing stalls at an intersection. Cars with an electronic ignition will most likely not need this step. Check your owner's guide.

Step Six - Adjust the valves, if your car has hydraulic valves then you can skip this step. Again check your owner's manual to verify what type of valves your car has. This is a good time to replace the valve cover gasket as well. If you see any oil then this is a good time to investigate the seepage before it turns in to a leak.

Step Seven - Visually check all your belts. You are looking for wear and to make sure they are tight. Turn the car on and listen for any squealing from a belt. Replace any belts that look suspicious.

Step Eight - Check and top off any engine fluids, this is also a good time to have the oil and oil filter changed.

Step Nine - Check the condition of your air filter, if the filter looks dirty replace it.

Step Ten - If you have a manual transmission vehicle, you want to have the clutch examined and adjusted if necessary. This step allows you to stay on top of the amount of wear on your clutch and forecast when it will need replacing.

Step Eleven - Check the fluid level in your battery, if it is low add distilled water. This is also a good time to clean the contact terminals.

Step Twelve - Have the PCV valve replaced, this is an inexpensive part and goes a long way in keeping your car running smooth. A plugged PCV valve causes the car to stall or run very rough.

That's it! As you can see, some steps do not apply to every car depending on age, engine technology and transmission type. This is the most comprehensive list I could find and put in to one article to help the less mechanical souls to keep their engines in tip top shape. Happy motoring -

Actual Need of Car Indemnity

By: Ricky Hussey

Each and every car owner get his cars insured just after buying it, the reason why they do so is not because they feel the need of it. The reason behind this is because this is now a legal restriction. As per the recent law passed, each and every car has to be insured and if any car running on the roads found uninsured then this would be considered as the violation of law. For this violation, the car owner will be punished.

Almost every car get insured and most of the people don’t know the reason that why the govt. has passed this law or what is the use of insurance. People consider car insurance a waste, but is it so really? None of these people tries to find out that what is the importance for the car insurance? The reason why car insurance is necessary is because all of the car insurances have the liability coverage, which is the most important part of insurance.

In The liability coverage, the owner of the car has no direct benefits. This cover is used in accidental cases. Whenever an insured car meets with an accident with another car, then in this case the other car gets the claim money. The other car’s owner will get the claim money only when the insured car is in the fault.

This is the importance of the insurance and also this is the only reason why car insurance is now a necessity for the car owners. As per the govt. point of view each and every person should get their rights. Through this liability coverage the innocent person will get his right easily. Liability coverage can be further divided into two: • Property damage • Bodily Injured

Both of these points or the covers are equally important. These covers are use for the same basis as through both of these cover the insured car owner gets no direct benefits. Property damage is used when only the car or the vehicle is damaged by the insured car whereas the bodily injured is used when the driver or the other passengers in the car get injured.

Every state has their different policies and the minimum required liability coverage of different states may vary. This actually depends on the risk of accidents in particular states. Usually in the mountainous regions and in the union territories the required liability coverage is high.

Christmas Car Rental Tips

By: Dean Harris

Christmas is here and billions of happy traveller’s make their way to friends and loved ones thanks to transportation solutions such as car rental. South Africa, Europe, America, Asia and everyone else on planet earth is travelling home to their families. Avoid the rush and follow these handy hints to ensure that your holiday travel is filled with pleasant memories and not the horrid experience of screaming babies in queues, lack of car hire and inflated prices. The festive season is the busiest time of the year for car hire in Cape Town or any other popular tourism destination. Take the time to shop around; you are still the rental companies’ number one priority after all. It is practised during this time of the year for larger car hire firms worldwide to out-strip supply, meaning that the price is often overinflated. These are the best tips for the coming season:

The most important tip to remember is to book early in order to avoid disappointment or paying too much. As the old adage goes, "it is often easier said than done" despite that year after year, the same mistake is repeated. The closer you leave your booking to the last minute, the greater the chances will be of missing out on the perfect rental! Get organised and book your car hire in Cape Town early.

Take advantage of the best prices by staying open with your dates and by being flexible with your car rental type. Also, bear in mind the seemingly small charges that can lend to overspending such as if your Cape car hire is delivered to you, it costs more. Opting for GPS and power-steering, will also cost more. Never mind the possibility that by being too specific, you may negate a possible rental option. Keeping an open mind may also land you a cheaper deal.

If you are dead-set on booking extras, pre-book to avoid the disappointment you will feel when your 4x4 arrives without a baby-seat or a satellite navigation unit. Any car hire from airport branches will have these options readily available throughout the year but during the silly season, they will be snatched up faster than a free cup of eggnog. So book extras early, or pay a hefty price to guarantee them.

Hop online and compare prices. The best deals can be found simply by opening multiple websites and listing prices, side by side. We all practice price comparison on a daily basis, thanks to the global economic crisis and your chosen car rental should be acquired through the same means. You may get lucky and find a smaller, independent company with rock-bottom prices.

Make certain that your car rental in South Africa is covered by the necessary insurance. In the Western Cape, car hire insurance is mandatory extra and most branches have the same policy. Everyone needs their possessions covered and accidents are rife, with drunken revellers making a nuisance of themselves on the road. Keep your affairs in order and insure your car rental. There is no worse Christmas present then having to pay for a new rental car.

Follow these tips as they warrant a safe and reliable journey on the road throughout the holiday season. Your car rental experience can be a smooth and pleasant voyage if you learn to follow these common practices. Car hire in Cape Town can be a thrilling experience, or a painful one depending on the steps you take.

Dean owns a business which specialises in car hire in Cape town and is the number one firm in regards to car rental in South Africa.

Where Do You Buy Your Gas ?

By: Charles Weiss

Let me start this question about fuel, with the question where have all the Americans gone? I can remember a time years ago when people of this country had some patriotism. They believe in things like helping your neighbor, going to church on Sunday, heck when I was a kid there was hardly any stores or gas stations open to buy fuel, so people stayed home or went to church and then spent the rest of the day with the family.

We use to buy American products because they were the best, and everything else was junk. The problem started with all the cheap imported products combined with the country getting flooded with illegal aliens who could not afford too much so they bought the cheap foreign products and put most people out of work today by doing so. Teaching foreign countries our trade secrets and giving them the machines to compete with us was not to smart either.

So now have we learned our lesson? Looks like we are pretty hard headed as we now have more different gas companies than ever before. We as Americans know all about supply and demand, but what about forced supply and demand?

People start using less fuel to be good citizens and conserve fuel; try to protect our environment by driving less thereby putting fewer pollutants in the air. We are also shoved into smaller cars that only give us a few more miles of gas to the gallon and so what is the reward?

The foreign fuel companies get ticked off because the prices go down at the pumps so they slow down production so there are fuel crises in this country and push the prices back up. And to make things worse they have oil wells off the Florida coast stealing our fuel and selling it back to us as foreign oil. Oh by the way what happened to all that oil that was promised to us from the Alaskan oil pipe line we built years ago? Looks to me like we are not as free as we think we are.

We have gas stations in this country that are from foreign oil companies that hate the American people; they want to put nuclear weapons pointing at this country and what do some people do in this country that they love so much? They support those oil producing countries by buying their products. In my day we would have run them out of town not support them with one American Penney , ,by the way a penny in those days was equal to a dollar in value compared in today’s market value. No need to tell you who to thank for that rip-off.

So my question to any true American patriots is where do buy your fuel, gas, diesel fuel, motor oil and grease. Is it at one of these foreign oil companies that want this country to fall or do you buy you fuel at American gas stations. You know we are the only country in the world that does not have a commercial on the television saying we should buy American products I wonder why. Instead of asking yourselves what is best for you to do, why not start asking what is going to be the best thing for your children. And better yet why not go by the words of a real President of the U.S, ASK NOT WHAT YOUR COUNTRY CAN DO FOR YOU BUT WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR COUNTRY.

With the high cost of fuel don't you think we should be doing something about it besides complaining? check out this website ecosavesfuel.com

2 Reasons why there are many Good Used Japan Cars for sale

By: Yoichiro Shiba

The whole world is aware of the fact that used Japan cars are the cheapest in this planet. Moreover, the used Japan cars come with many bundled accessories, which make buying a used Japan car more profitable. All the used Japan cars that are sold will be in top condition. The looks of the used Japan cars will be as good as the new ones. With all these good things, have anyone wondered why these used Japan cars are sold for dead cheap prices? Just keep reading on the article to know the top 3 reasons behind the cheap pricing of the used Japan cars and the great availability of the same.

1. The price of cars is the Cheapest in Asia

You will be well aware of the fact that the pricing of the cars are cheapest in the Asian countries. When it comes to Japan, the prices of the cars are even dead cheap. That is the reason why the Japanese people buy new cars frequently as the new models are introduced. This makes their old used Japan car to be sold at very low prices. As the old cars will be well maintained by the owner, you can see many good used cars for sale at very cheap prices. The Japanese used car inventory expands as people keep on buying new model cars and sell the used car for very low prices.

2. The very special Japanese loan system

Though this loan system cannot be explained in few words, we’ll try our best to make it understandable in this article. The outline of the car loan system in Japan is that you can buy a new car for almost half the original price of the vehicle. Here is how it works. Let’s take an example that you are buying a car that costs US$50,000 which has a resale value of 50%. Through the unique Japanese loan system, you will have to pay only US$25,000 for the vehicle. The car loan system provides an opportunity to deduct the resale value of the car. After some 2 years, you have to resell the car to the dealer and get a new car in the same manner. This makes used Japan cars accumulate to the inventory.

People around the globe really have a hard time when importing luxurious used cars from other countries. There are certain situations where the import tax of the used car will be very much greater than the price for which you bought the car. However, things are very different in the case of importing used cars directly from Japan. You should have heard that importing used Japan cars are not associated with any import tax. Yes that is absolutely true. You don’t have to pay even a single penny as import tax while importing used cars from Japan. Moreover, all the car related taxes are very low for the used Japan cars when compared to the others.

There's a distinct difference between high performance exhaust and standard exhaust on a vehicle. Say for instance a high performance stainless steel exhaust system with the larger diameter pipe, the ex-pipe, the performance mufflers, probably allows 15 to 20 percent more power produced by the engine to be realized at the rear wheels, instead of being wasted through the exhaust system.

Now you take these components, rework the tuning on the motor and alter the gearbox and differential ratios somewhat and then lever the whole lot into a raunchier looking body shell. Add the custom stainless steel exhaust system that is now taking its toll in the steel exhausts industry of United Kingdom. How to buy a cheap car

By: Jamie Hanson

Car is a luxurious commodity that every one wants to posses. Well to purchase a new car is almost like a dream which only a handful can fulfill it, considering its cost, down payment and the monthly installments which add up a huge amount to be deducted from your salary. So why not look for cheap cars, the used ones which are 5 to 10 years old and such a good condition that nobody can guess its age. And when you get this at a cheap rate then nothing like it!

The best option for a new car is to purchase a used one which is not less in performance and appearance than a new one. Keep your mind set very clear about what actually you are looking for in a car and then a test drive which helps you to decide whether to go with it or not.

You need to consider certain things that help you to get a car that is not only cheap but also gives you the best of performance. For this you need to go for a test drive in a car which interests you. While test driving check these things:
• Pay attention on any sorts of vibrations, doubtful sound like clinks and pounds or any sort of irritating squeaky sounds.
• There should be no mismatch in color and the car should have an overall perfect look with no scratches, bents and dents. Check if there is any sort of rust on parts that are hidden like beneath the car, on the wheels, or maybe on the engine!
• There shouldn’t be any kind of leakage from any internal parts of the engine. This may prove to pay you for it.
• Thoroughly have a look at the tires, there should be no objects stuck on it nor should there be a leaky valve, or else you need to get them changed immediately.
• Check the car performance in terms of distance covered in a given time frame, note the number of miles it covers, you should be comfortable with this.
• Once you just start the car turning the key in first position, all the warning lights should be on at once and when fully start these lights should be off, if not then you need to give a second thought.
• You can also get the car checked thoroughly by a professional, and this idea need not be objected if the seller is really committed to you.
• There should be no kind of smoke emitting out from any part of the engine or any sorts of noises from the tail pipe etc…

While on a test drive you need to look at certain features like the brakes of the car should feel new and smooth, with lights, fan, windows, doors and locks should also be in a proper condition. Check the seats, trunk and any compartments or the arrangement of the dashboard that is useful to you. When you start the car see for any kind of noises that may be unfamiliar or unusual, keep the car on and see the performance of the engine when it is in still position. Check all the buttons to work well and how other controls like air, heat and defrost work. Other important thing to keep in mind is the comfort and the safety aspects too. Test drive a lot of cars in residential areas as well as on highways to really check its performance in terms of stops, speed, bumps and curves. Drive a bit rashly than what you would have done if you owned it, speed up your car and give a sudden brake, take sharp turns, go crazy with it and fid out if there is anything wrong in its performance. Anything you are uncomfortable with, cross out this and test drive other cars, once satisfied with its performance, outlook and general appearance, just go for it.

Low rate of interest rate, easy credit and abundantly available used cars help you fetch a car of your choice at a good deal. Finally, you have owned a car of your dreams that is not only cheap but also has the look, appearance, performance and features comparable to that of a new one.

Tips to Purchase Car Online

By: Amit Kothiyal

The Internet is becoming an increasingly popular method to purchase cars. Although you may have heard a lot about the risks associated with the process, the following buying car tips can help reduce or eliminate those risks.

Look Close to Home
Although the Internet could connect you to available new cars and used cars all over the world, you are going to have the best luck if you focus your search closer to home. Using an online search site to find nearby available cars means you'll be able to see the cars and take them for a test drive before you make any type of commitment. Test drives are always a good idea since your protection after purchase may be minimal.

Keep Options Open
Some people are uncomfortable with private sales and prefer to work only with car dealers. While this logic does make some sense, it can sometimes be misguided. Just as not all people are going to be trustworthy, not all dealers will be believable either. Regardless of who you decide to buy from, you should find out as much about the car as possible. If you're buying a used vehicle, ask to see maintenance records so you'll know how well the car was taken care of. If you're buying a new vehicle, ask about warranties.

Do Research
Before making any purchasing car decision, you need to do your research. The Internet can be helpful here because you can determine the approximate value for the vehicle you are considering, and you can read reviews about the cars to determine if the one you're considering is going to be a good fit. By doing the research ahead of time, you'll be more prepared for haggling or just for finding a good deal on the car you want.

Find a Reliable Site
The best way to find the car you want is to use a site that locates the available automobiles. There are many websites available online for buying cars, searching for variety of cars, car dealers at affordable prices.

Automarket.com.au is one of the biggest automotive portal in Australia that offers a wide range of new cars, used cars or pre owned cars for buying or selling cars. Wide Body Kits have real purpose besides making your vehicle look awesome

By: Henry Chervenka

Wide Body Kits are more then just for looks

Wide body kits will transform just about any vehicle into the hottest, meanest looking street machine in your neighborhood. The beefy exterior body style will make your car look like its on steroids and to be honest... who want to mess around with anything on steroids.

Besides changing the appearance of a vehicle, which is awesome, wide body kits do have a real purpose. High performance race cars and some rally cars use wider tires for better traction on the road and help grip the surface at high speeds. These wider tires have no where to go except stick out beyond the exterior of the vehicles body. This causes several problems at higher speeds.

The first and foremost problem which all race car designers have to deal with is aerodynamics. Simply put, aerodynamics is the way air flows and reacts as it travels over, around and under a vehicle traveling at high speeds. The shape of the exterior body will effect the performance of the vehicle either by increasing or decreasing its efficiency. Tires sticking outside of the cars body will disrupt the aerodynamics of the vehicle and create unwanted drag.

Wide body kits have fenders which extend over the tires, reducing the unwanted negative air flow from the tires. Now, with the fenders extended further out, the front and rear bumper are designed to match the wider fenders and aid in the aerodynamics

The second problem with tires sticking outside the cars body is a safety concern. Wider bumpers, fenders and side skirts are designed to cover the wider tires to prevent stones flying up and out. For spectators standing along the race track, stones and other objects can injure or even kill a person under the right conditions. They also prevent stones from flying up and into the windshields of the race cars traveling behind.

Aftermarket wide body kits are manufactured with several types of materials. The most common are...
Fiberglass wide body kits
Urethane wide body kits

Fiberglass wide body kits, are the cheaper of the two and can be repaired when damaged. However, fiberglass is prone to damages more easily compared to urethane. Knowing what your needs are will help you choose between the two materials wide body kits are made of.
